The people that manage the Tidewater Chapter are made up of vendors, users, consultants, systems integraters and more. They are employed in government and commercial sector jobs. The one thing they all have in common is the belief that supporting their ARMA chapter is important enough to volunteer their valuable time. Darlene is the Manager of Regulatory Documentation for Newport News Shipbuilding.
Having been employed there for 30 years, 27 of her years of service have been in the field of Records Management. In her current position, Darlene administers the Company’s comprehensive Records Management Program, as well as its Technical and Specifications Libraries. Aside from these responsibilities, she is also a Quality Lead Auditor, qualifying her to manage the planning and performance of Quality System Audits. An active member of Tidewater ARMA, she has served on the Board in several capacities, and is currently Chapter President and Historian. Upon joining the Chapter in 1998, she immediately proceeded to integrate herself fully into the Chapter, signing up for service on several committees. In 1999, after only one year of membership, the Nominating Committee approached Darlene requesting that she consider a position on the Board as Vice-President. She answered the call and the rest is history. For twelve of her nineteen years in the Chapter, Darlene has served on the Board in some capacity. Susan is the Records Manager for the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Their program provides services for all city departments, court operations and the school district. The Virginia Beach program consists of four full-time and two contract employees who manage approximately 1,100 records requests per month in addition to records destruction, transfers, and training. Susan has been with the City of Virginia Beach since 1994 and joined the Records Management program in 2006. Susan has been a member of the Tidewater Chapter of ARMA International since 2006, has served as the Chapter Secretary in the past and participates on several chapter committees.
